 Indian battalion wins UNIFIL environment award:

                An Indian battalion stationed with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon(UNIFIL) has won an environment award for a project that aims to decrease waste generation, reuse plastic, build greenhouses and compost pits.

              Indian Battalion (INDBATT) was adjudged first for a project that seeks to increase awareness and decrease waste generation by planting seedlings in their positions and areas of responsibility, Preventing littering, reusing plastic bottles, building green houses and building compost pits.

        Other UNIFIL units that received awards and recognitions included French-led Force Commander Reserve, Indonesian Battalion, Republic of Korea Battalion and Italian Battalion.

UNIFIL launched the Annual Environment Awards in December last year to recognize environmental achievements within the Missions area operations. The awards commend individuals, UN positions, contingents, sections and units that have demonstrated leadership, innovation of exceptional activities in protecting the environment.

Flipkart tie-up with Karnataka Govt to promote Art & Craft:

          Flipkart has signed and MoU with Karnataka MSME and Mines department to promote the state's arts, crafts and handloom sectors by bringing them on to e-commerce and providing market access. The partnership under the Flipkart Samarth programme will enabled local artisans, weavers and craftsmen of Karnatak to showcase their hallmark products to a pan India customer base.

This partnership will help in taking the local handicrafts and handlooms business of karnataka to a national consumer base.

NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission launches App development module for school students:

            NITI Aayog's Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) has launched the 'ATI App Development Module' for school children all across the country. The ATL App Development modules have been launched in collaboration with Indian homegrown start-up Plezmo.

           Objective of launching it is to hone the skills of school students and transforming them from App users to App makers in the times to come under AIM's flagship Atal Tinkering Labs initiative.

           The ATL App Development Module is an Online course and is completely free.

            Through 6 Project based learning modules and online mentoring sessions, young innovators can learn to build mobile Apps in various Indian languages and showcase their talent.

NATGRID has signed MoU with the National Crime Records Bureau:

        NATGRID has signed a MoU with the National Crime Records Bureau to access the Centralized online database on FIRs and stolen vehicles.

         NATGRID could get access to CCTNS database, a platform that links around 14,000 police stations.

       Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and systems(CCTNS): It aims at creating a comprehensive and integrated system for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of policing. It will automate police and create facilities to provide public services like registration of online complaints, ascertaining the status of case registered, verification of persons etc. National Crime Records Bureau(NCRB) is the central nodal agency that would manage CCTNS.

        National Intelligence Grid(NATGRID):   An attached office under Ministry of Home Affairs. It is an IT platform to assist the intelligence and law enforcement agencies in ensuring national and internal security, with an ultimate aim to counter terror.

   NATGRID connects the approve user Agencies such as security/law enforcement agencies with designated Data providers such as Airlines, Banks, SEBI, Railway, Telecom etc. It will be operational by the end of December 2020.

     Functioning of NATGRID :

i) It will link 21 agencies with citizen databases such as banks, telecom firms. Tax bodies and immigration department etc.

ii) This data will be available for at least 10 central agencies such as the intelligence Bareau and the Research and analysis wing.

iii)Database will provide information such as mobile call details, telephone connections, bank account details, passport details, immigration entry and exit data, income tax return etc.

iv)Availability of real time information in a common secured platform will immensely enhance India's counter-terrorism capabilities.
