1.    Former RBI Governor Chakravarthi Rangarajan receives the first Prof. P.C. Mahalanobis Award on National Statistics Day:


     

    On the Day of National Statistics Day the Ministry of Statistics and programme implementation(MoSPI) presented the first Prof P.C.Mahalanobis  National award in official statistics 2020 to Dr. Chakravarthi Rangarajan, Former Governor , Reserve Bank of India for his contribution to the National Statistical System(NSS). He received the lifetime achievement Award for his contribution in providing solution in the issues related to the estimation of national income. He was the chairman of the National Statistical commission to review the statistical system.

      About Reserve Bank of India (RBI):   The RBI is the central Bank of India which is the regulator of the entire Banking in India. It controls the issue and supply of the Indian rupee. Its Headquarter at Mumbai and established in 1 April, 1935. Shaktikanta Das is the present Governor of Reserve Bank of India.
